Powering Next-Gen Identity with the Connected Worker
We’re a diverse team driven by a shared mission: creating secure, forward-thinking solutions that advance how people and technology connect. Our expertise and commitment to impactful innovation have led us to focus on the connected worker—the next evolution in digital interactions for Industry 4.0 and beyond.
Our Story
Nymi’s story began in the early 2010s at the University of Toronto, where Karl Martin and Foteini Agrafioti explored groundbreaking research into ECG-based identification.
Could a heartbeat serve as a unique, secure ID—more reliable than a fingerprint or other biometrics? While heartbeat ID didn’t become the standard, this research sparked the creation of the first Nymi Band prototypes: a wearable device that provides persistent, on-the-go authentication. This vision paved the way for today’s connected worker, enabling seamless access with just a single authentication.
