Over the past few months, we have been working with partners and developers to build and enhance the Nymi Ecosystem. In doing so, we have been able to demonstrate some of the Nymi Band’s latest applications - from wearable payments to two-factor authentication - at some exciting events and conferences. We would like to share with you some highlights from our participation at Salesforce’s recent conference in San Francisco, Dreamforce, along with new Nymi Band features and finally, details surrounding events we are planning to participate in this fall.
This year, Dreamforce attracted over 150,000 attendees. Business Insider creatively described this gathering as “the Woodstock of the software industry”, and we were proud to be a part of this conference. We occupied a booth in the Internet of Things Cabin, and hosted hands-on Nymi Band workshops. From demos of contactless payments and computer unlock, to interesting conversations with attendees about the future of authentication, we were thrilled to have been a part of Dreamforce.
This conference also marked the introduction of one of the Nymi Band’s newest applications - biometrically secured second-factor authentication using your electrocardiogram. The Nymi Band can now generate TOTP (Time-based One-time Password) tokens, meaning it can integrate with any existing service that is TOTP-compatible. We demonstrated this by having attendees in our workshops access Salesforce.com using the Nymi Band. Masters of Code
MasterCard is once again on the hunt for the world’s best coders, with their Masters of Code competition. Last year, this competition produced some great ideas, including Triedit (formerly changeRoom). This integration leveraged the Nymi Band as a persistent authenticator, able to tie together online browsing (“webrooming”) with the in-store experience, all personalized to the user in a seamless shopping experience. As a part of this exciting series, AngelHack will be hosting a hackathon on September 27th and September 28th, in Montreal, Canada with Nymi as a supporter. This event will allow us to further collaborate with a talented community of developers, and we are excited to see what amazing solutions they create using the Nymi Band SDK.
Fall has just begun, and we have a lot in store over the next few months. Various members of the Nymi Team will be speaking at events across the globe, including IoT613 in Ottawa, the Web Summit in Dublin, as well as Connected+ and The CMA’s Digital Religion in Toronto. From our blog and website to your favourite social channels, be sure to stay tuned as we continue to share these exciting updates and milestones with you.
