Last week, Ubuntu demoed a Nymi Band enabled Internet of Things (IoT) solution. This demo was powered by Snappy Ubuntu Core and controlled in the backend using ForgeRock’s identity management system. The Nymi Band was used as a biometric identification device. The w allowed an authorized individual to access the identity management backend, and if successful, a welcome message was communicated on the LED display.
This exciting demo represents one of the first steps in applications for identity and access management in the IoT space.
For those of you who have been following, you’ll know that the future of the IoT is something that gets us very excited. Identity will play an increasingly important role as we work toward a better, more connected future where devices can use granted information to better personalize our daily lives.
